We bought a camper – again!

Family

Two years ago we purchased this sweet little RV but quickly realized it was going to be too small for our family of 5. We only had this RV for a few months before we sold it and then started looking for another one. Those short months we were able to camping, we loved it so much and made precious memories so we have been waiting for the perfect RV to come along so we could go back.

Our little 1997 Tioga, Shelby! She took us on our first camping adventure!

A couple weeks ago we found a camper that we thought would be the perfect fit for our family. We saw it in person and decided that a C class motorhome would the right amount of room and we loved the flexibility of being able to drive it. That camper did not work out but it did lead us to know exactly what we were looking for. The day after we saw that camper in person I was browsing Facebook Marketplace and found an identical 2013 C class motorhome that was in our budget, had low miles, and checked all of the boxes for what we needed – the only problem was it was in Kentucky. The owner was so kind to allow us to FaceTime him that evening so we could see the camper in real time before we committed to driving up.

We knew as soon as we saw it, it was the one. We hustled and got things prepared so we could leave to go get it the next day! The trip to Kentucky was beautiful and the next day we were driving home with our new camper!

Over the next year we will be doing some updates, painting, and just putting an Our Gathered Cottage spin on the decor. For now, we are just excited to hit the road and start camping again! I am also thinking of blogging our camping adventures and sharing some things that work and some things that didn’t!
